Anuj Aggarwal has taken over as the Chairman of Airport Authority of India (AAI) on interim basis post appointment of Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra as Secretary in Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce.
According to an official release by Ministry of Civil Aviation, “The competent authority has approved the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of chairman AAI to Anuj Aggarwal, Member (HR), in addition to his own duties for a period of three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Mr Aggarwal’s appointment as an interim chairman is effective from August 1.
Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra under his chairmanship in AAI brought about many changes in the strategic operations of the regulatory body. He gave a new direction to AAI and steered it to achieve greater excellence in the sector of airport infrastructure development not only at the metro airports but also in tier II and tier III cities.
